I use friendica to be able to communicate with people in the diaspora network and people in the the activityPub network. These are not compatible - so activityPub folks can't communicate directly with diaspora folks and vice versa.
Friendica is able to communicate with both.
By using quote post functionality my intention is to to share something I've seen in one of the two networks with the folks of the other one. This works in both directions. People still can't directly communicate with the original authors due to the network barrier, but with friendica I can simply do reshares this way. In my opinion this is an awesome use case for quote posts

Dieses Jahr bin habe ich ja so manchen Zeitpunkt, um Dinge zu saeen verpasst - das ist manchmal so. Hab es aber immerhin geschafft, Kresse, Rucola und Ringelblumen zu saeen. Werde auch noch Bohnen legen und evtl. auch noch Kohlrabi. Hab mir vor ein paar Wochen auch einen schoenen kleinen Salbei geholt (ja, echten) und der scheint sich auch ganz wohl zu fuehlen auf dem Balkon. Einen Thymian moechte ich noch sehr gerne haben. Die Pfefferminze kommt nicht gut nach - vielleicht sollte ich die mal umtopfen. In dem grossen Kuebel lasse ich tatsaechlich dieses Jahr die Brennnesseln wachsen - auf die stehe ich ja besonders und trockne bereits fleissig - aber verwende sie natuerlich auch frisch! Wildblumen habe ich auch noch gesaet.
Dieses Jahr gibt's nur pflegeleichte Dinge - ich will den Arbeitsaufwand moeglichst gering halten diesmal. Die Ringelblumen sind opensource - wird dieses Jahr vermutlich auch das einzige aus opensource seeds sein
