I use friendica to be able to communicate with people in the diaspora network and people in the the activityPub network. These are not compatible - so activityPub folks can't communicate directly with diaspora folks and vice versa.
Friendica is able to communicate with both.
By using quote post functionality my intention is to to share something I've seen in one of the two networks with the folks of the other one. This works in both directions. People still can't directly communicate with the original authors due to the network barrier, but with friendica I can simply do reshares this way. In my opinion this is an awesome use case for quote posts

Slowly getting better in smith grinds! I started to focus on pinch point to get more stability and when I feel safe enough I with pinch point I'll go for longer grinds

When discover a place that you want to skate one day and which is quite a challange...
when you start to visit the place again and again to check respectfully if you really want it...
when you have visited the place a few times now and you ask your friends to be there with you soon and once the day has come....
The emotional chaos before... when you need half an hour or more... you start and ride the direction and see how it feels like and repeat this a few times.
If you then just make the decision to go for it and really go for it - if you get closer then and you just continue....
when you go beyond the point of being able to stop... and then you realize to go for it is the only way...
... when you "stay cool" even if the thrill kicks and you jump....
... when you are in the air and you forget everything else and you feel this special kind of joy....
This is skating

A few days ago I tried frontside-180 to switch nose-manual the first time. Damn, what a hard trick /o\ :-o

I have got a peertube account where I plan to upload my skate content. On friendica currently it doesn't work as expected - on mastodon / hometown I don't really want to upload my skate clips, because those accounts are meant for another purpose, or a different focus. I hope peertube works as expected, because I think it would be awesome to have place just for skate content.
In case you're interested to follow - this is my channel:

Yesterday I learned: overwilly stall on the quarter.
So, willy is like a smith grind, but front truck on the coping and back truck hanging down.
Overwilly is like a feeble grind, but front truck on the coping and back truck over the coping and above the platform on top.
I ended with continuing the turn in front-side direction (so a bit less then 90 degrees) to get back into the transition of the ramp in regular direction.

Dear skate bubble:
Is there a name for 180-to-switch-willy?
I mean... for example: a 180 to switch smith grind is called barley grind.
A willy (a.k.a. lazy grind) is similar to smith grind, but instead you put your front truck onto the obstacle and your back truck hangs in front of it.
Is there a name for frontside 180 to switch lazy grind?

Yesterday I discovered something really strange and interesting in context of skating:
A switch 360 has the same direction of rotation as a backside 360. I'm able to do switch 360s. Not in such a good and stable way as regular 360s, but I can do them. But the same time I'm not yet able to do backside 360s. It feels totally different
For those who are not familiar with these skate things:
1) A 360 is when you jump up and your body makes a rotation of 360 degrees lengthwise.
2) Frontside - backside - switch: When you ride some kind of board then you usually have a front foot and back foot. Let's say your front foot is your left one. When you jump up and turn your 360 counter clockwise then it's a frontside 360 because your front is what turns in your riding direction first. When you turn clockwise then your back turns in the riding direction first and then it's called backside.
So a front side 360 (when your left foot is your front foot) is turn counter clockwise.
3) Switch is when you switch your style of riding in that way that you use your regular front foot as back foot and your regular back foot as front foot. So now you have your right foot as front foot (you're riding switch) and turn your front to riding direction, you turn clockwise.
This is a switch front-side-360.
When you ride regular again (left foot as front foot) and turn your 360 clockwise it's backside, because now your back turns to the front first.
Same direction - but feels so very different

I really enjoy to watch his videos. He's one of the best streetboarders - I like his style so much and I'm looking forward to get in touch personally in Eindhoven in August at #StreetboardWorlds 🛹

Barley-grind is: You have the curb on your backside (so behind your back) and with a front-side 180 you turn in the direction of the curb and you land in switch smith-grind.
I love this trick so much!! When I did my second or third the grind was so clear and good. I landed perfectly - fully balanced and locked in. The grind was fast a and I grinded until the end of the curb and ended with switch front-side 180 out. What a feeling!!

Yesterday evening I was at Skatehalle Berlin in the late slot from 20:00 till 23:00. Usually I go to bed early... often before 23:00 so it felt a bit strange to go out for such that late But it was a great session. I'm still not in training... started with the bowl, but left it after 2 or 3 rides, because after a break of about 6 months it felt a bit hard to start with bowl directly. Especially in such a big bowl. But in the street area I quite nice session then. Of course I had to start carefully, but I had a few nice runs. I have managed to ride in manual over about 10m long pad and made some nice melon grabs and 360s over a funbox-like part. It felt very good. Today I'm quite tired, but it's ok. I enjoyed the evening a lot - also met a few nice people
Also decided to buy some spare parts and to repair my other streetboard as well. It's always good to have two boards - if one breaks one can just use the other till the broke one can get repaired. Sure - half a year, but before my last ride last year I had a break, too because of an accident and now after last light I feel it again... that 'need to skate' feeling that you might know, too if you're skater
I don't like skating - I love it

Der Prozess, die Grenzueberschreitung... was alles in mir vorging.... krasses Gefuehlschaos und eine tolle Erfahrung
